There is so much to say about this amazing South Farm wedding. Judy and William put so much of themselves into the details and it shows. Let’s start with the decorations – Judy and her bridesmaids folded 9000 (not a typo) pieces of coloured paper into the flowers and pomanders you see in almost every shot. They are incredible. The lights on the tables were made by William who cleverly had them connected to an iPhone app which changed the colours. The stationery was by family friend Nix and the decorations were completed with wooden platters cut by Will’s dad.
The day started with traditional games the groom has to win in order to be worthy of his bride (William was, of course!) and continued with a Chinese Tea Ceremony, where the bride and groom served their closest family and friends. After a few minutes playing with Sophie, their dog, the bride and groom went to change into their afternoon outfits, William returning in tweed from head to toe, including a flat-cap, brogues and some very colourful socks. The whole party moved to the summer house for the wedding ceremony which was outdoors in glorious sunshine we were lucky to have, as it had rained during the morning. Judy arrived, with her bridesmaids and dad, wearing a beautiful, lace Benjamin Roberts gown.
In the barn, after the ceremony, guests were invited to sign a purple guitar, inscribed with Will’s proposal to Judy. He had played a song to her on the guitar before popping the question, now this gorgeous guitar was the guestbook. Next to the guitar, instead of a wedding cake, was a 3 tiered pork pie, the likes of which we have never seen. We were lucky enough to taste it and it tasted twice as good as it looked. It was the perfect ending to this perfect blend of traditions. Please enjoy the images.
